1. In addition to quality issues, the matching of the cutting nozzle and the cutting gun is also a big problem. If the cutting nozzle replaced now is not produced by the original random standard cutting nozzle manufacturer, although the size looks similar from the appearance, the size standards of different manufacturers are also different. Most manufacturers' electrode nozzles are imitations of other old plasma manufacturers' products. The means of imitation mainly rely on real sample surveying and mapping. There will inevitably be certain size errors during surveying and mapping, so each manufacturer's electrode nozzle and other manufacturers' cutting guns may not be well matched.

2. Improper use causes the cutting nozzle to wear out too quickly. When the cutting nozzle is too close to the steel plate during the cutting process, it is very easy to break through the cutting nozzle. Generally, the cutting nozzle is at least 3-8mm away from the steel plate during 100A plasma cutting. In addition, the input voltage is too high or unstable, which will cause the loss of the cutting nozzle.

3. The material, thickness and cutting process of the cutting workpiece are all related to the loss of the cutting nozzle. In terms of the material of the cutting workpiece, the CNC plasma cutting machine consumes less electrode nozzles for ordinary carbon steel plates, stainless steel, cast iron and other materials, but copper and aluminum plates consume more. In terms of cutting thickness, cutting plates below 10mm is more nozzle-saving, while plates above 16mm consume more nozzles. In terms of cutting technology, if perforation cutting is often required during the cutting process, it will consume more than twice as many nozzles as frequent edge arc cutting. Therefore, when selecting plasma power supply and cutting nozzle, you must remember to choose a plasma power supply with appropriate power and a nozzle with corresponding current and caliber to achieve the best cutting effect and service life.

NOZZLE
The nozzle focuses the plasma arc and the gas that surrounds it to make a clean and precise cut. A nozzle with a larger opening is used for gouging, while a nozzle with a smaller opening is better able to direct the gas and so is used for fine, detailed work.

ELECTRODE
The electrode is a narrow piece of copper containing hafnium (which is an excellent conductor of electricity). Its job is to receive the electrical current from a cathode block inside the torch to which it is connected, and to focus the charge through its tip, which causes it to arc onto the workpiece.

RETAINING CAP
The retaining cap essentially holds all of the consumable parts of the torch together. As temperatures at this end of the machine are extremely high, it's not just the parts creating and focussing the arc that are worn down; the component holding them together also degrades over time.

SHIELD CAP
The shield is there to protect the torch and its other components from the sparks and molten metal that result from the plasma cutting process. It takes the brunt of the fallout so that wear to other components is minimised as much as possible.
